Abstract
Abstract
The importance of this research lies in relying on comparing the athlete's performance by assessing both his successful and unsuccessful attempts. The researcher reviewed mechanical studies that analyzed the effectiveness of javelin throwing, which focused solely on the analysis of the best attempts and overlooked a crucial point: the unsuccessful attempts. The researcher employed the descriptive method using survey studies, which were appropriate for the nature of the problem. The research sample consisted of athletes who achieved distances of 60 meters or more, with a total of five throwers from the clubs (Army, Al-Mustaqbal, Police, Baladruz, Souq Al-Shuyukh). The researcher considered the legal competition between the athletes as a regulated situation that serves the research objectives and supports its hypotheses. The researcher selected 15 kinematic variables for analysis and study, using two cameras with a speed of 240 frames per second to cover the five steps before the throw at a distance of 6 meters and a height of 120 cm. The researcher reached several conclusions, the most important of which is that comparing successful and unsuccessful attempts plays a significant role in identifying weaknesses in motor performance and recognizing small details that can enhance performance. The kinematic variables showed significant differences, which serve as indicators and evidence of the nature of the errors. The researcher recommended conducting studies and research that focus on comparing successful and unsuccessful performance from the perspective of other fields such as coaching and physiology.
